OUR SPECIALTY DOWNSIZED GOLDENDOODLES

Petite Goldendoodle Puppies

Petite Goldendoodle PuppiesMost "Miniature Goldendoodle" puppies available these days are produced by breeding a full-sized, purebred Golden Retriever with a Miniature or Toy Poodle.  The resulting puppies can technically be called Miniature Goldendoodles.  However, it's important to note that these puppies could very easily grow to be large Goldendoodles - equaling the size of their larger parent, the Golden Retriever.  We wanted to be able to provide families with a smaller, more compact Goldendoodle that would grow to be within a predictable size range.

When we consulted with a reproductive specialist veterinarian and were advised that this would be easy to achieve if we first produced a downsized breeding female.  We bred our female purebred, Golden Retrievers with our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  The offspring are called "Petite Golden Retrievers" being 50% Golden Retriever and 50% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  The Petite Golden Retriever females are bred with a Miniature or Toy Poodle, for our "Petite Goldendoodle" puppies.

In addition to the downsizing, infusion of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel brings several other very desirable traits to the crossbreeding.  We call this the "Cavalier Magic".  The puppies will have the Goldendoodle qualities (low shedding coats, high intelligence, great desire to please) AND these special (Cavalier) qualities:

Petite Goldendoodle Puppies
  • Cheerful, happy disposition with a people-loving personality;
  • Gentler energy level;
  • Shorter nose with a wide face, and a blocky head;
  • Large, round eyes; and
  • Cavalier "trimmings" - longer ears with silky curls and feathery tails.

We breed for Petite Goldendoodles AND XS Petite Goldendoodles - depending on the size of the mother and the sire.  Petite Goldendoodles grow to be between 25 and 30 lbs., and the XS Petite Goldendoodles will be 20 lbs. or less when grown.

Crossback GoldendoodlesCrossback Goldendoodles are 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever (low-dander, low shedding coats for allergy and asthma sufferers). A Goldendoodle mother is bred to a purebred poodle for the Crossbacks.  We breed for a limited number of medium and small Crossback Goldendoodle litters each year.   The mediums grow to be about 35 lbs. and the small Goldendoodle Crossbacks will be about 25 lbs. when grown.

The Cava-Poo-Chons are a very special, three-way crossbreeding designed to produce a smaller dog with very special traits.  These puppies grow to be between 12 and 18 lbs. depending on the size of the parent dogs.  They have no to low shedding coats, a delightful personality, gentle temperament and high intelligence.

Cava-Poo-Chons

The mother of our Cava-Poo-Chons is a “CAVACHON” – 50% purebred Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and 50% purebred Bichon Frises.  Our Cavachon mothers were carefully bred (by Timshell Farm) with great pedigrees – and all are happy, sweet-natured and very intelligent.

The sire of our Cava-Poo-Chon puppies is a red, color-bred, purebred Toy Poodle named Spanky.  Spanky was carefully chosen for our breeding program, as he possesses “all the right stuff”.  Spanky is lively and fun, but never hyper or yappy.  He has a very loving disposition and great desire to please, coupled with a very high intelligence.

So, the CAVA-POO-CHON puppies are 25% Bichon, 25% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and 50% Poodle.
