JakeLinda,

Just a quick update on Jake. He went to the vet today and is very healthy nine pounds. The vet commented on how beautiful he is. Jake did a great job during the exam - very relaxed. He is adjusting very well to the other dogs in the family. We'll send you some pictures shortly.

Take care.

Hi Linda,

We got your message and want you to know Jake is doing great! He's getting along well with the other dogs - especially Gracie! They play, chase each other , and have quite a time even though Gracie isn't going at full speed. We're working on the crate training and he's getting the hang of it. He's already mastered going in and out the doggie door, but we're making it less accessible until he's totally potty-trained. Deb

Linda,

Jake went to the vet this week for his three month check up and second round of shots. He is doing very well and is very calm with the vet. He weighed in at 12.5 pounds. He is doing better on the housebreaking and is getting quite comfortable with his kennel. Jake is also adjusting very well with Gracie, our one and a half year old Schnoodle. Jake is a great pup and we love him very much!

JakeDear Linda,

We just wanted to share some of our latest pictures of Jake with you. We visited friends who live in Oak Leaf and Jake showed his "country roots." It was like he remembered his days with you out in the country! He absolutely loved frolicking in their flower beds and playing with their dog, a Tibetan Spaniel named Waylon. They had a great time chasing each other and rolling in the dirt and grass.

He's continuing to grow. He weighs about 13 pounds now. We're probably going to take him to the groomer soon to get him trimmed. We love the way his coat looks, but his little face needs to be tidied up a bit - there are little sprigs of hair that block his smiling eyes. We are really enjoying watching him grow and evolve into his own unique personality. It seems like every day there are changes. He has become much more receptive to his crate. He even goes into it on his own most evenings. He started his Puppy Obedience class Friday evening and loved the idea of getting treats for sitting, our first lesson. We'll just have to see if he's as cooperative without the treats! I'll definitely keep you posted on his progress.

Jake is doing well. He just celebrated his one year birthday, and I think he's reached his adult weight of about 38 pounds. He is a great companion to Gracie, our terrier mix. His laid back, very friendly personality helps to mellow hers as Gracie is a little more intense about things. He's learned to play fetch with Gracie (I throw both of their balls at the same time and they each distinguish their own ball and bring it back to me) and also chases and catches the soft Frisbee with her. Jake's also very gentle around Sassy, our 14 year old cocker. Quite the versatile boy!

We are very happy to have Jake as part of our family.

Take care.

Deb M.
